Most of the region lies between 500–1,200 meters above sea level, creating a warm, tropical climate.
Weather:
Hot and humid for much of the year. Spring is warm at 20–30°C, summer peaks around 28–35°C with heavy rain, autumn stays 22–30°C, and winter is mild at 15–25°C. The rainy season lasts from May to October, while November–April is drier and sunnier.
People & Language:
Population is about 1.2 million, including Dai, Hani, Han, and other ethnic groups. Mandarin is widely spoken, while Dai language and traditions remain strong in daily life, festivals, and local culture.
